Louisa (Mandi Moss) doesn't like carrying her dumb ol' unbrella
around.
|
Her wind-up NanNan (Colin Willkie) upbraids her. "There is
nothing
more undignified than a young lady without a properly poised
unbrella."
|
The
wind-up Conductor (Michael Holmes) informs them that the train
to Fissure, where
Louisa will be conducting her school interviews, has been
delayed. He also says there's
a winding station, but NanNan fully wound before she left the
house this morning.
The Conductor is sure Louisa's school interviews will go well -
"They're always impressed by an unbrella held with dignity!"

|
NanNan finds the
proper instructive speech to recite to Louisa.
|
She's
heard it all before.
|
The clerk (Megan Crockett) passes the time.
|
Louisa asks for her credit stamp so she can get a lolly-fizz, a
box of nico-dots, "and
maybe some adventure paper to pass the time." Her
purchases cost 5.2 grams, but there's
a 10 gram minimum. How much is the next train ticket? It'll
bring her total to 20 grams 50.
The train - to Hollows - leaves in two minutes.
|
Louisa boards the train to Hollows.
|
NanNan is quite angry when she learns that Louisa has run off,
so angry a steam whistle erupts from her mouth!
