Sacred Fools Workshop Series:
The Dance of Angels Who Burn Their Own Wings

by Satoh Makoto and other members of The Black Tent Theatre
directed by Lemon Baardsen

The Dance of Angels Who Burn Their Own Wings is a Japanese theater piece from the early 1970s.  The workshop will endeavor to create a repeatable process for collaborative creation of the movement of its characters. The main focus will be on the creation of discrete movement languages for each of its four character groups, the Birds, the Angels, the Red Wind, and the Grey Wind. How these movement languages accent the physicality of other characters played by each group will also be explored.
